Helios released two white papers at the 5th European Spectrum Management Conference in Brussels on 23rd June. The first paper covered ways of addressing connectivity for smart grid, a topic which was recognised as a future necessity by many of the conference's speakers. The second paper looked at one of the key assumptions behind Europe's Digital Agenda, that of the real demand for high speed Internet connections. Richard Womersley, Head of Helios' telecoms practice, said, "Our recent work in these fields fuelled our desire to delve deeper into some of the key issues facing Europe as it attempts to develop a coherent and forward-looking spectrum policy. Both smart grid, as an example of the Internet of Things, and broadband demand need to be further considered if a balanced and pragmatic approach to spectrum access is to be followed."
