![]() Having completed my research in aeronautical engineering, I was attracted to a career with Helios largely because it offered an interesting and challenging environment for scientists, and in particular in aviation. Furthermore, the customer-facing aspects of consultancy, the variety of roles and work offered, and the opportunities for travel in Europe and beyond appealed to me. Helios was a friendly and relaxed company and the Directors at my interview reinforced this impression. I have carried out a variety of work whilst at Helios, including performing simulations of new technologies, analysing performance data, undertaking financial and impact assessments, regulatory and policy work, presenting training courses, and project management. I am happy to say that the scope of work and the range of clients I have worked for have not been constrained to a particular area, and this has given me an excellent opportunity to develop my skills and has offered an interesting and challenging working environment. Helios encourages its staff to work at clients premises and my placements have included a sixteen month secondment in Brussels. My work has involved travel all over Europe, including Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic, Portugal, Denmark and Hungary. As a consultant, I enjoy the challenge of helping clients by providing solutions to business and technical problems, whilst making a difference. My career has allowed me to develop expertise within ATM, at a time of great change within the industry. Helios provides the flexibility to achieve a work/life balance, without compromising its commitment to a high quality of work. |
