Back by popular demand!
Spectrum management is becoming fundamental to an
ever-expanding range of sectors: it is central not just to the traditional
constituencies of broadcasting, mobile, aerospace, maritime and telecoms but
increasingly important in industries like IT, healthcare, transport and even
retailing. So why are there so few training courses devoted to this important
subject?
It is to address this need that we have set up the Understanding
Modern Spectrum Management training course being held at Merton
College, Oxford, UK on 30 March - 3 April 2009. It is organised by Helios
and PolicyTracker, the
spectrum management newsletter.
The course will give a thorough grounding in the technical fundamentals of
spectrum management, as well as assessing the latest economic and policy
arguments. Full details of the course aims and contents are available at the Policy
Tracker website, but here are some key points:
- The teaching team are acknowledged experts. From academia
we have professors from the UK and France: Martin
Cave and Gerard Pogorel; as well as Ofcom's head of research and
development, Professor William Webb. Leading the technical module of the course is Richard
Womersley from Helios.
- Feedback on the course has been outstanding. "One of the
best I have attended" said one participant. "Superb, in depth but still
understandable," said another attendee.
- An opportunity to debate best practice with like-minded
professionals. The training will be lively and interactive with plenty
of debate and discussion. There is also a programme of social events including a
reception and a formal dinner in the delightful surroundings of one of Britain's
oldest universities. So the course is also a chance to network and exchange
views with colleagues from around the world.
- Compared to other courses, this is extremely good value.
Delegates booking before 31 January will pay only £2745 + VAT, including
accommodation and full board. Similar five-day courses can cost £700 more and
don't include accommodation. The delegate fee for Understanding
Modern Spectrum Management is even more competitive if you take out a PolicyTracker
subscription at the same time.
