Dr Mike Shorthose: Mike is the Chairman of Helios. He has worked extensively in the aviation business on a wide range of issues including business advice on the planning and execution of large air traffic control projects, organisational change and cost benefit analysis. Mike is also a technical specialist in the design, standardisation and implementation of aviation technology particularly VHF data links and surveillance systems.

Nick McFarlane: Nick is the Managing Director of Helios and has been working as an aviation consultant for over 15 years. Nick has an engineering background and is highly experienced in navigation and surveillance systems. He has supported the evaluation, design and introduction of many new aviation systems, both from a technical perspective and through investment analyses. Nick has worked across Europe for a wide range of clients, including industry, government and non-governmental organisations. |

Andrew Sage: Andrew is a Director of Helios who has worked across a broad range of markets including transport, public safety and central government. He has particular skills in strategy/policy development, technology procurement and commercial business planning. For example, Andrew has been heavily involved in the European Galileo programme; advising clients in the European space and telecommunications industry on the future exploitation of navigation-related services and products.

Paul Ravenhill: Paul has over 18 years experience of the ATM and aviation industry having worked in avionics design, ATM R&D management and consultancy. Paul specialises in the introduction of new CNS technologies and has developed a number of Systems Engineering approaches to modelling the impact of new concepts on existing infrastructure and procedures. Recent work has concentrated on the impact of the Single European Sky legislation and the SESAR projects on the modernisation of ATM including new standards and regulations. Paul is well known in the industry for his work leading the Industry Consultation Body secretariat. |

Dr Michael Fairbanks: Mike has over 17 years consultancy experience specialising in policy, governance, strategic and operational performance aspects of air and marine transport. He has been at the forefront of the restructuring of the European air transport industry through a long-standing involvement in the Single European Sky initiative as well as supporting the European Commission in assessing the economic, financial, competitive and social impacts of a range of Open Aviation Areas. Mike has also worked with international organisations, and national policy makers, regulators and service providers in the airports, air traffic management and maritime domains. |

John Raftery: John has over 25 years’ consultancy experience, specialising in recent years in the business economics of air navigation services. He has played a key role in benchmarking, performance measurement, and modelling and evaluation of strategic options for ANSPs individually and collectively and has worked for fifteen European ANSPs and regulators. John has been at the heart of the debate on restructuring of the ATM industry through his long-standing work with the Performance Review Commission and the European Commission, concerning benchmarking and the impact of policy options, through his work on international cooperation and Functional Airspace Blocks, and through his work on ATM pricing options. |

Richard Womersley: Richard has over 17 years consulting and commercial experience in spectrum management and wireless technologies. As well as having managed the operation of national and international analogue and digital broadcast network infrastructure, he has advised regulators, operators, governments and end users across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean and Asia on spectrum licensing and pricing, trading and auctions, monitoring and enforcement, and strategy and policy. He has also authored a number of landmark reports on issues such as spectrum efficiency, interference management, digital switch-over and spectrum pricing and has delivered numerous training courses on spectrum management.
Ben Stanley:
Ben is experienced in gathering and balancing stakeholder requirements
and drawing out the key issues. He specialises in new concepts and
technologies, focusing on their safe development and deployment. He has
an excellent knowledge of ATM developments, and is known world-wide for
his work on ADS-B and Multilateration for ANSPs, regulators and
international organisations. Ben holds an MBA and a pilot's licence, and
is trained in safety management.

Alan Corner: Alan
joined Helios following a successful career in the Royal Air Force. An air
traffic manager with extensive operational experience, the focus of the last 7
years of his career was in ATM capability development where he had a successful
track history in strategic planning and programme management. He has an
extensive knowledge of civil/military co-operation and has worked closely with
ANSPs to develop improved airspace management and improved operational concepts.
He has worked on projects throughout Europe and, internationally, his experience
includes advising the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation in Kabul.
